Galerie Zygos

Eugenia Georganda was born and raised in Athens, Greece. She started taking photographs at the age of 14 when she received as a birthday present from her father her first camera. During her graduate studies in Boston (1980-1986) she acquired a NIKON FM, which she still uses and started printing black and white photographs with her friend, photographer Ioanna Rallis.

Upon finishing her doctorate in clinical psychology she returned to Greece and started teaching psychology and working in private practice as a psychotherapist. At the same time she followed courses in photography at "Photochoros" with Platon Rivellis (1987-1988) and at the Southeastern College with Pamela Brown (1988-1990).

She likes to capture faces and special moments in nature, exactly as she sees and experiences them, without the use of filters, processing, or other technical means.

In October 2003 she had her first exhibition entitled "Water X 30" at the Art Gallery of Nafplion. In September 2005 she had her first solo show in Athens, entitled "The Water and the Dream" at Galerie Zygos, within the 12th Athens Month of Photography.
