A new group of paintings by Alexandros Papaconstantinou under the general title “Horizons” was on view April 2-20th at Galerie Zygos. In contrast to his previous group of works that was exhibited in 2005 at Galerie Zygos, this time Papaconstantinou broadens his focal point to an existing -yet metaphysically conceived- landscape, incorporating symbols and elements that are part of his “personal code” of communication.

Alexandros Papaconstantinou was born in 1952 in Paleon Faliron, Athens. He spent his childhood in the island of Oinousses of Chios.
He studied Painting and History of Art in Athens and Rome. He then studied for five years under master painter Diamandis Diamandopoulos, being his sole student.
Critiques and essays on his work have been written by Prof. Chrysanthos Christou, Dora Eliopoulou Rogan, Prof. Athena Schina, Alan Andrew Moran, Jiacomo Baronchini, Dimitris Haritos and others.
Select solo shows include: Galerie Zygos, Athens, The Fall Sonata, 2005, Municipal Gallery of Thessaloniki, 1999, Selini Gallery, Kifissia, Compositions, 1998, Galerie of Ersi, Athens, The Double Identities, 1996, Xenia, Naupaktos, Landscapes, 1994, Galerie Zygos, Athens, Landscapes, 1994, and two exhibitions in Rome.
He has participated in numerous group exhibitions around the world. He lives and works in a farm in the outskirts of Athens. His work can be found in several important public and private collections throughout the world.
